Cotes de Francs

 

A tiny appellation east of the St Emilion satellites, covers barely more than 450 ha. As elsewhere in the right bank, clay-limestone soil dominates the landscape. The wines are made using Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes and are quite reliable if only short lived.
